Meet Dave Vo from Xpede
Q: We'd love to kick things off by getting to know you a bit better. Could you share a little about yourself and the story behind your journey so far?
A: I have been an entrepreneur for over 25 years in various industries – from e-commerce, jewelry to restaurant. I always have a passion for innovation and technology but never really took the leap to explore my passion until now, which I hope Xpede will only be the beginning of my exploration.
Q: We're curious about your experience growing up, living or working in Santa Ana. What does Santa Ana mean to you, and how has it shaped who you are today?
A: When my family first immigrated to the USA about 1979, the first city that we lived in was Santa Ana. My first elementary school that I attended in the US was Monroe Elementary school in Santa Ana. We lived in Santa Ana for several years before moving to Westminster. When I was in college, one of my first jobs was a driver for a messenger service company in Santa Ana. It was when I truly understand the dynamics and need for fast and reliable courier or messenger service in the local business community. The rapid on-demand delivery service that Xpede provides to local business community today partly arose from that experience. Hence, Santa Ana is an integral part of who I am today as an entrepreneur and person that I am today.
Q: What are your hopes and dreams for Santa Ana's future? What kind of changes would you love to see in the community?
A: Santa Ana is a vibrant city full of history. Not only should those history, such as historical landmarks, be preserved, but the city (business and general public) should embrace and modernize itself with the technologies available to it, such as AI or quick commerce/fast delivery service.
Q: Every path has its ups and downs. Looking back, what have been some challenges you've faced, and what lessons have you picked up along the way?
A: In life, there's adversity and it is not life if there is none. In my past, I have always faced adversities, whether it is in business or personal, and learned from it. It is part of maturity and becoming wiser as a person. From the adversities that I faced, I learned that one should not be afraid of failure and that failure can only make one stronger. If you truly believe in something, such as a business venture, don't let others or obstacles keep you from accomplishing it. Always look straight ahead.
Q: We're all ears when it comes to learning about your work and what lights you up. Is there anything special you're currently working on that you're excited about? We'd love to hear what's keeping you busy these days!
A: Yes, Xpede is the my current business venture and I am passionate about it. It is what excite me from the moment that I wake up to the moment that I fall asleep every day. It is hard work and I often work 7 days a week, but when you are passionate about it, it does not feel like work and time passes by real fast. I feel that I am looking in the crystal ball every day and I see what Xpede can and shall be for the future of, not only the city of Santa Ana, but for all when it comes to the technological logistics.
